BSNL tablet : Few Over-hyped features
BSNL tablet 1Ghz processor :
BSNL tablet has lately got an edge over aakash due to good specification and more features. The competitive price tag has also worked into the favor of BSNL tab. However things are not as lucrative as they look. BSNL tab claims a processor of 1 GHZ which built on ARM 11 architecture on the other hand Aakash2 processor is about 750 Mhz built on Cortex A-8 architecture. In the simple terms Cortex A8 performs twice better then ARM11 this means that the processor of BSNL tab is about 500 – 600 Mhz in terms of Cortex A8 i.e. when compared with aakash. And aakash tablet 2 is about 1500-1600 Mhz in terms of ARM 11 i.e when compared to BSNL tablet. Also the simple 1 Ghz mark can be easily obtained by overclocking the CPU which is not sustainable in BSNL penta tablet. However the Hype has helped BSNL tab to gain an edge over aakash 2 in market and how just by simple exchanges of facts BSNL tab has become biggest rival of aakash tablet 2.
BSNL tablet Camera and Video Calling:
The front end camera in BSNL tablet is definitely a good feature to be included but when we have a closer look at it we see its just a VGA camera of 0.3 MP so you are not going to get any high quality picture at all. When almost every android phone in the market is having camera of about 2.0 MP and still many are not satisfied with the quality you can easily guess what 0.3MP means on ground. Regarding video calling in BSNL tablet penta tpad IS 701r the only connectivity option is Wi-Fi so it limits you for video calling but you can use BSNL 3G Data Card to connect with internet. The integration of this camera with mobile applications such as skype or other android apps will be interesting to see and we will wait for the quality of service this android tablet provides. More and more mobile application developers will be interested to develop few android applications for this tablet and to enhance the functionality of the tablet.
BSNL tablet HDMI Port :
HDMI ports are generally provided with laptops and tablets so that you can connect them to your TV and have the high quality video streaming. But HDMI port provided with BSNL tablet does not make much sense due to its slower processor and RAM and low internal memory. First you won’t be able to record anything in BSNL tab in HD due to poor camera the only option is to download HD videos but the lower internal memory (2GB) stops you from that as your 5 minute HD video song of true 720p with 30 frames per seconds will have a size of 590 MB which is more than 25% of internal memory of your tablet. Second it will be a very tough task to play that video smoothly on such a slower processor.
All others features are same as Aakash tablet and we are not going to see any significant divergence in performance and features of BSNL tablet.
